Draws inspiration from the Past to Produce the Future

I am now currently a Graduate student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I am in the process of earning my Masters in History. I am also pursuing a specialization in Digital Humanities.

With this next step, I have also begun a Graduate Assistantship with the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities where I work on encoding files for the Nebraskaland and the William F. Cody Archives. In fact, just today some of the files I worked on for the Cody archive were published.

I am learning a lot about how to understand and think about the study of history in my Hist: 900 – Intro to Historical study. I am gaining foundational skills in teaching in my Hist: 941 – Readings in American History to 1877. And I am broadening my skills as a digital humanist/historian in Hist: 979 – Seminar in Digital History.

I can positively say that I like what I am doing and I can’t wait to see where this path will take me. I hope to soon find my ‘niche’ in history; for right now I will be exploring the various kinds of history I encounter.
