I’d like to let you all know the classes I will be taking next spring :
- Beginning Spanish ~ I’ve decided that I need to pick up a language, I didn’t want to go back to French, though. I have been using the app Duolingo to pick up so vocab in preparation.
- Programming Languages ~ I’ll be learning or at least refining my skills in differing high-level computer languages. I will also be examining major decisions when it comes to design and run-time structures.
- Web page design ~ I will be refining my skills in HTML/CSS and exploring topics like search engine optimization, social media, web analytics and current trends in digital media.
- Civil War and Reconstruction ~ I will seek to understand the complex roots of the Civil War. I will learn about different Americans’ experiences of the war years, 1861-1865. And I will examine two important outcomes of the war: slave emancipation and the troubled process of Reconstruction.
- Paths to Knowledge ~ I will be reflecting upon my interdisciplinary courses of the past and preparing to make the most out of my interdisciplinary studies in the future
I have chosen these classes mostly because of certain requirements for my majors/minor however Spanish is the class I have chosen to undertake ‘for fun.’ As I truly believe it will help me to better understand the world around and help me achieve a level of communication I would not otherwise have.
Keep an eye out, once January 2017 comes I will be in an internship for the History News Network. I will be working as a social media intern helping with their branding and social media content. As such I have decided to blog about the experience. Expect an update once a week from the months of January 2017 to April 2017.
