J 88 – Strategic Political Communications

The Course

I took this course during the fall of 2016.

The goals of the course were to provide an introduction to the practical understanding and application of modern strategic political communication in candidate and issues campaigns. By using the current media environment as a foundation, we began to discuss the strategies and tools needed to successfully advocate on behalf of a client in the political context.

Most of the people in this course were taking it with the intention of becoming Most of the people in this course were taking it with the intention of becoming a lobbyist, I took it because I figured it might help me with my production skills. We also analyzed the implications of ethical political campaign communication practices in our diverse society.
